From the exhibition catalogue: “MUHAFAZA traces memory in anonymous spaces. These anonymous spaces sometimes appear as a set of stairs ascending to an ordinary apartment or a window sill and sometimes as a room seen in an old movie. The works imply some sort of a quest for

self-analysis in these houses, rooms and wreckages. That which is revealed throughout and at the end of this quest bearing traces of both personal

and collective memory, comes into existence as a sound from the sea, a door sill, a recurring image or poetry and is preserved beyond corporeal in the space of the dream, memory and the unconscious. MUHAFAZA invites those in contact with its narrative to this fragile territory, to its own asylum.”
